In a work with these characteristics and an interior whose surface is barely 50 m²., we propose a way where the common thread, is the search for balance both in formal aspects as functional, although the maneuver is really scarce. If to the total area of 50 m². we subtract, assigned zones for the kitchen toilets and warehouse, the available surface to solve the area of public attention is 37 m².
We carry out the demolitions of the corresponding parts and the counter, is one of them, like suspended shelving on the ceiling, whose dimension is exactly the same than the counter. With which, these 2 elements that had a length of 8.00 m. will pass to have 5.00 m. With this decision a composition problem is solved and the varied proportions of the different elements present in inside, they will keep better formal relationship with the interior itself, because visually these pieces were too heavy and voluminous for the surface of this space.
We have made new partition in an unbeatable zone to get a warehouse inside and support for the main sign abroad and although we have renounced to a window, this is the 3rd and is located at the end from space, next to the toilets where space it is still narrower. How is this area, it is not useful, we decided to change the use and consequently make vanish this weak point that notoriously penalized to this interior.
This space will be dedicated, like a place where be able to taste varied tapas & portions but it must also become in a suitable space to offer breakfast. Under this requirement, we know that the capacity destined to the public attention is of utmost importance. The final capacity that has been obtained is of 22 people seated and 4,5 or 6 people that may accommodate at the counter.
To get a softened atmosphere, cozy and light, it has been our objective for this interior and with that intention we choose a light-medium tone wood but with a “natural” finish, which will be combined with parts, where the pure and uniform color has its share of transmission power. Mint green and white, are the selected color tones to combine with wood in the assigned parts.
The distribution of surface between the attention zone to the public and the work zone or private, we would say that this interior is almost in an exact balance. To change or to dedicate more meters to one of the zones, we believe that this space it would not be viable, for this kind of commercial use.
For painting the walls in toilets and warehouse, we used a medium gray tone and although it seems be decontextualized of the rest of the colors in the range chromatic used, but really develops a job and fulfills with functions essential at the time to organize and sectorize the parts of this interior, because this color is a darker tonality and marks a limit because it defines the depth from the service area to the public, this way both the warehouse like the toilets, so this zones lose presence in this space and will not affect the main area of this interior.Thanks to this gesture related to expression, we get to define the environment with an atmosphere clearly characterized.
The “mint green” tonality, it’s a choice expresses from the owner that she is a woman and we have analyzed comprehensively how to apply or capture this color rightly, avoiding abuse to get away from a possible saturation. We have also developed graphic design tasks and in addition to the corporate image we have prepared: facade, exterior sign, blackboards, vinyls and the food menu.
