Restaurant
At 20 m. scarce from the sea and a restaurant which name, “A Marina de Camariñas”, suggest us where should we go in this work. This space is in a dated house in the XIX century, where we embrace 80% from floor 0. Within the needs program, we must incorporate: entrance hall to the restaurant, a generous kitchen, fish atelier, warehouse, toilets (handicapped accessible) and 2 dining rooms.The rest 20% is destined, to a private room.
It begins with the work and we start with the demolitions where the false plaster ceiling is eliminated, the old partitions, for normative reasons the old floor is pitted and finally it is discovered the quarry stone of the walls, hidden under a finish lime paint. How the facade is protected by Heritage it must be maintained the existing white tone, which is ideal for this construction located so close to the sea.
The area that is intended assign to each space, is marked by the limits created by the stone closing walls and for this reason, it is necessary to create 2 dining rooms. The main room, has a capacity 32-36 people and the smallest dining room for 10-14 people.
The owners of this restaurant, they have been around 35 years in the sector of the hotel & catering industry and in this transfer to the new place, they have the illusion of reflect with small formal details that this restaurant, is a space that refers to the sea and not only for the food menu.
Another objective within the approach, try to use chairs with different colours and for this occasion, they have been reupholstered furniture that the owners already had. The colors that have been chosen, they are related colors with the sea and with the sky, for what color gamut, understand the tones greens, blues and oranges.
