Floor 0 Single Family House
Although at first the owners want to avoid the realization of works inside of your home, we check there is not any possibility to improve this space, otherwise it´s modifying several parts that condition the layout and leave handcuffed to this interior. We check that the fireplace is in the wrong place, because it does not offer anything special and blocks any possibility of good organization, since it is in the center of a space of conventional dimensions. This movement of the fireplace is the key to this reform, however we are aware of what it entails.
For the new location of the fireplace, not any area is valid either and we verify that the best possible placement without any doubt is on one of the sides of the house, in this way we can place the ducts outside without distorting until exceeding the ridge of the roof. The characteristics that surround this wall in the interior save the project and from this point, we can continue with all the guarantees and aspire to a good result, because a situation is already visualized where it allows us to obtain a serious and attractive space.
The demolitions are done at 2 points and with this dodge, we get decongest and to keep free the space. On the one hand, we cut the partition that divides the stairs of the living room and we do it by following the same staggeredthat steps of stairs indicate us. The placing of square iron tubes white lacquered they finish up to the ceiling this partition staggered. These tube have been fixed no visible anchors in each plane horizontal of the wall and we have used 10 units of 4 x 4 cm., with measurements in height between 2.40 m. up to 1.20 m.
The new fireplace is integrated in a furniture made with plasterboard. This furniture is thinking to offer various functions, because besides place the fireplace on the front, we have also anchored the television in this plane. We have left the shelves and the bar cabinet (hidden because 2 girls also live) on the sides of it. For the equipment, the owners have replaced old furniture, because they consider necessary the renovation and once they taken this decision in addition to a round table for the dining room, also they have acquired the sofa, the chaise longue and a rotating chair which is ideal in a specific area. For this piece of furniture we have chosen the “EGG” chair by Arne Jacobsen.
“ Conclusions ”.
At the beginning of this work, our first sensations are of restlessness and concern when verifying that we have a complicated situation in front of us and a job with a high degree of difficulty. The difference between an interior space that knows what it wants and one that does not, depends on its final expression and also in obtaining a defined atmosphere. With this analysis, we want to insist that an orderly or disorderly situation is important and influences our 5 senses.
When a work is finished, it seems that the final result is something obvious, but it really is not like that and in this case, in order to obtain these attributes, we have delved into all the available options to detect their strengths or more consistent (intrinsic), because the variants to transform the floor 0 of this single-family house were really scarce.
Fortunately, thanks to the vision of the owners of this house, an organized, bright and harmonious space has been obtained. Natural light penetrates strongly creating a fluid atmosphere inside where it covers the entire 40 m², thanks, among other reasons, to the arrangement of the elements and the new finishes and / or textures that have been incorporated.
