Floor 0 Single Family House
Before starting with the interior reform of this single family home with 2 floors, an intervention of size is performed and the house is enlarged on the ground floor (level 0). Of this enlargement the whole house it benefits, but specially the living room and the kitchen are the most favored areas for this intervention, because is increased it´s area in 35 m². Once done the structure reinforced concrete and the closing wall with their corresponding finishes we can pass on to the next phase because the enlargement it’s already finished and the inside is in conditions to develop the approach that previously we have determined.
One of the objectivesof the owners for the needs program, is the incorporation of a fireplace and also the assignment or creation of an area for children. Before the reform, the kitchen is not connected with the living room, there is a wall that separates them, so that this wall is demolished and this it’s the first outstanding action. With this new connection, the environment is different, now space it has 65 m². surface and a large place has been obtained with a concentrated surface, valid to place each part at its exact point.
To locate the future fireplace, we choose a point that allow to pull out the pipe without incident to the outside, for that reason the pipe traverses the new section of roof that is created and fixed in the part of rear facade that has been preserved. With this location, the fireplace inside is located in the core of the space and has become on the axis that articulates to the rest of the zones, for this reason, the future fireplace must incorporate identity and personality.
The kitchen once connected to the living room, appears in such a way that have we decided to increase it´s size by 3 linear meters. With this increase, in addition to get a higher participation with relation to space larger surface. Also, increase your own capacity and performance. Before the reform, the kitchen has a finish in cherry wood and 3 new modules are added. These modules incorporate colour, because we have avoided continue with cherry wood. For these colors, we have used the primary light tones such as: green, yellow and red for a showcase that marks the limit of the furniture that defines the kitchen.
The different elements finally make up this space, they project a personalized interior, where every detail has been devised for this work. An example is the fireplace 3 sided coated in corten steel, has been made in a specialized factory in Murcia with prior contact and from our design with its corresponding measurements. “In this fireplace, the fire can be observed from any point inside and that is really special”. To resolve the dining area, it has been designed a table of 2.30 m. x 1 m., composed of a board of thickened wood and an iron structure for the frame, that allows us to see the board slightly suspended because we have avoided employment legs in the corners of the board, with the intention don´t to obstruct in the way the organization and in the placement of the 6 Eames chairs, that have been acquired “expressly”.
